The Government of India has launched the second phase of the PM Internship Scheme, offering young people the opportunity to gain 12 months of professional work experience in some of the country’s top 500 companies.

The program aims to bridge the gap between education and employment by providing practical corporate exposure to youth across sectors such as banking, technology, manufacturing, and retail.

Participating companies include major industry players such as Reliance Industries, Tata Consultancy Services, HDFC Bank, and Oil and Natural Gas Corporation.


Key Benefits of the PM Internship Scheme

Monthly Stipend

Interns will receive a ₹5,000 monthly stipend.

  • ₹4,500 will be provided by the government through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

  • ₹500 will be contributed by participating companies through their CSR funds.

One-Time Financial Assistance

Selected interns will also receive ₹6,000 as a one-time joining allowance to cover initial expenses.

Corporate Work Experience

Participants will gain 12 months of practical experience in leading companies, helping them build professional skills and industry exposure.


Eligibility Criteria for Applicants

Candidates must meet the following requirements to apply:

Age Limit

Applicants should be between 21 and 24 years old at the time of application.

Educational Qualification

Eligible candidates include those who have completed:

  • Class 10 or Class 12

  • ITI certificate

  • Polytechnic diploma

  • Bachelor’s degree (such as BA, BSc, BCom, BCA, BBA)

Income Limit

The annual family income must not exceed ₹8 lakh.

Other Conditions

  • Applicants must not be full-time students or currently employed.

  • No family member should be working in a government job.

Exclusions

Candidates from premium institutions such as Indian Institutes of Technology, Indian Institutes of Management, and National Institute of Design, as well as those holding professional degrees like CA, MBA, or MBBS, are not eligible.


How to Apply for the PM Internship Scheme

The application process is completely online and free of charge.

  1. Visit the official portal: pminternship.mca.gov.in

  2. Click on “Youth Registration.”

  3. Verify your mobile number through OTP authentication.

  4. Enter personal details, educational qualifications, and Aadhaar information.

  5. The system will automatically generate a resume based on the submitted information.

  6. Choose up to five companies or sectors based on your preference and submit the application.

Applicants must ensure their Aadhaar-linked bank account details are correct so that stipend payments can be credited directly.
