Iran Warns of “Surprises” as Tensions With U.S. and Israel Intensify
The conflict involving Iran, the United States, and Israel continues to intensify, with Tehran signaling that it is prepared for further escalation. Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi has issued a strong warning, stating that the country has “many surprises” for its adversaries and remains fully prepared amid the ongoing hostilities.
The remarks come more than ten days into the conflict, during which Iran has faced repeated strikes but has indicated it will not back down.
Iran Says It Is Ready for Any Scenario
In a statement shared on the social media platform X, Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi said Iran is closely monitoring U.S. plans related to its oil and nuclear infrastructure.
He claimed that after what he described as “Operation Epic Mistake,” global oil prices have surged and the cost of goods is rising rapidly.
According to Araghchi, Tehran believes the United States may be planning actions targeting Iran’s oil and nuclear facilities in an effort to manage global market pressures.
“Iran is fully prepared,” Araghchi wrote, adding that the country also has “many interesting things” prepared in response.
Congratulations to Iran’s New Supreme Leader
Araghchi also congratulated Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei following his reported selection as the third leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolution.
The foreign minister described the leadership change as a step that would strengthen the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity during a period of heightened geopolitical tension.
He said the decision would help reinforce national unity among the Iranian people and provide stability at a critical moment for the country.
Iranian Diplomats Pledge Loyalty
In his message, Araghchi said diplomats representing the Islamic Republic of Iran have pledged loyalty to the new leadership.
He emphasized that Iranian officials would continue working to protect the country’s national interests, security, and strategic goals.
“We will spare no effort to defend the rights of our nation and advance the objectives of the Islamic Revolution,” he said.
Iran Says War Was “Imposed”
Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said during a weekly media briefing that diplomatic channels had been blocked due to U.S. actions.
Baghaei argued that the current conflict was “imposed on Iran,” and that the Iranian people are now united in defending their country.
He also accused the United States and Israel of violating international law through their military strikes against Iranian targets.
Rising Concerns Over Regional Escalation
The continuing confrontation between Iran and its adversaries has raised international concern that the crisis could expand into a broader regional conflict in the Middle East.
Analysts warn that prolonged hostilities could have significant consequences for global energy markets, regional security, and international diplomacy.
With tensions still high, global attention remains focused on whether diplomatic efforts can reduce the risk of further escalation.
