The Valentine’s Day weekend traditionally offers a strong revenue window for romantic releases, but this year’s box office showed mixed results. While newly released romantic dramas attempted to capitalize on the holiday, established titles experienced fluctuating earnings as audience attention split across multiple films.
‘O Romeo’ Day-2 Collection Report
It opened with ₹8.50 crore on day one, bringing its total earnings so far to ₹20.75 crore. Early trends suggest moderate audience interest rather than the strong surge typically expected from holiday-aligned romantic releases.
‘Tu Ya Main’ Shows Slight Growth
Romantic thriller Tu Ya Main, starring Shanaya Kapoor and Adarsh Gourav, posted ₹1.40 crore on day two, improving from ₹60 lakh on opening day.
The film’s total now stands at ₹2 crore. While the Valentine’s weekend provided a modest push, the increase remains limited, indicating steady but restrained audience turnout.
‘Vadh 2’ Slows in Week Two
After nine days in theaters, Vadh 2 collected only ₹11 lakh on Saturday, slightly up from ₹4 lakh on day eight.
Featuring Neena Gupta and Sanjay Mishra, the film’s cumulative total stands at ₹3.60 crore, signaling a significant slowdown as it enters its second week.
‘Mardani 3’ Weekend Uptick
The crime drama Mardani 3 saw improved numbers on its 16th day, earning ₹1.65 crore on Saturday compared with ₹60 lakh the previous day.
Its overall collection has reached ₹43.15 crore. With a reported budget of ₹60 crore, trade analysts consider the film’s performance underwhelming so far despite the weekend boost.
‘Border 2’ Continues Strong Run
The film has posted impressive cumulative earnings of ₹320.45 crore. Its weekly breakdown shows ₹224.25 crore in week one, ₹70.15 crore in week two, and ₹23.35 crore in week three, reflecting a gradual but expected decline after a blockbuster opening phase.
Weekend Box Office Trend Analysis
Overall, the Valentine’s weekend produced mixed results across genres:
New romantic releases benefited only slightly from holiday timing.
Older releases saw temporary rebounds due to weekend footfall.
Big earners like Border 2 maintained dominance thanks to strong early momentum.
Industry observers note that audience attention remains fragmented, with multiple mid-range releases competing simultaneously rather than a single clear winner dominating screens.
