New Delhi, India | January 29, 2026
Weather conditions in Delhi-NCR are set to change once again. Although the national capital has not witnessed rainfall over the past two days, cloudy skies persist, signaling a shift in weather patterns.
According to indications from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a third western disturbance is likely to become active over northwest India in the coming days. As a result, rainfall accompanied by strong winds is expected in parts of Delhi-NCR.
If rainfall occurs, it will mark the third instance of unseasonal rain in the region this year.
Western Disturbance to Impact North India
The weather department stated that a new western disturbance will affect the western Himalayan region between January 31 and February 2. Under its influence, heavy rainfall and snowfall are likely in the hilly regions on February 1.
The impact of this system is expected to extend to the plains, including Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad, and Faridabad, bringing light to moderate rain and gusty winds.
Cold Conditions Likely to Intensify
Meteorologists say that rainfall combined with strong winds could lead to a drop in temperatures, intensifying cold conditions across Delhi-NCR. Morning and night temperatures are likely to fall further, increasing the winter chill.
Residents are advised to stay updated with official weather alerts, especially commuters and travelers, as weather conditions may impact visibility and traffic movement.
