UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan will arrive in India on Monday for an official visit, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced on Sunday. The trip comes at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, marking President Al Nahyan’s third official visit to India since assuming office and his fifth visit in the past decade.
According to the MEA, Prime Minister Modi and President Al Nahyan will hold extensive discussions aimed at advancing the India–UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. The talks will cover key areas such as political cooperation, trade and investment, energy security, defense collaboration, and emerging global developments.
The two leaders are also expected to exchange views on regional and international issues where India and the UAE share substantial alignment in their strategic outlook. The visit is expected to reinforce the momentum generated by recent high-level interactions between the two nations.
Over the past two years, India has hosted a series of important UAE leaders, including Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in September 2024 and Dubai Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister, and Defense Minister Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in April 2025.
India–UAE: A Major Strategic and Economic Partnership
India and the UAE enjoy strong and multidimensional ties spanning political, cultural, and economic cooperation. The UAE remains one of India’s largest trade and investment partners, with both nations deepening engagement through mechanisms such as the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), the Local Currency Settlement (LCS) system, and the Bilateral Investment Treaty.
The two countries also maintain a robust partnership in the energy sector, supported by long-term supply agreements and expanding cooperation in renewables, infrastructure, and technology.
Diplomatic relations between India and the UAE were formally established in 1972, and since then, the partnership has grown into one of the most significant in the region. Both nations collaborate actively on global platforms including the United Nations, BRICS, and the UAE–France–India trilateral grouping.
President Al Nahyan’s visit is expected to boost bilateral cooperation further and chart new directions for the expanding strategic relationship.
