ED action in 1xBet betting app case involving Urvashi Rautela, Sonu Sood, Yuvraj Singh & More
New Delhi | December 19, 2025
India’s Enforcement Directorate (ED) has intensified its crackdown on illegal online betting platforms, seizing assets worth ₹7.93 crore in connection with the alleged money laundering case linked to betting app 1xBet. The action has brought several high-profile names from cricket, Bollywood, and politics under the scanner.
According to officials, the attached properties are linked to former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh, Robin Uthappa, Ankush Hazra, actors Sonu Sood, Urvashi Rautela, Neha Sharma, and Trinamool Congress former MP and actress Mimi Chakraborty. With this latest seizure, the total value of assets attached in the case has climbed to ₹19.07 crore.
Who Is Under the ED Radar
Investigators say the probe has uncovered suspicious financial transactions involving celebrities who allegedly promoted the illegal betting platform through agents and advertising intermediaries. The ED believes the scope of the investigation is expanding, and more prominent personalities from sports, the film industry, and political circles could be summoned for questioning in the coming days.
Breakdown of Assets Attached
Yuvraj Singh: ₹2.5 crore
Robin Uthappa: ₹8.26 lakh
Urvashi Rautela: ₹2.02 crore (registered in her mother’s name)
Sonu Sood: ₹1 crore
Mimi Chakraborty: ₹59 lakh
Ankush Hazra: ₹47.20 lakh
Neha Sharma: ₹1.26 crore
The attachment was carried out on Thursday under provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
Earlier Actions in the 1xBet Case
The ED has previously taken action against other well-known cricketers in the same case. Assets worth ₹4.55 crore linked to Shikhar Dhawan and ₹6.64 crore connected to former India batter Suresh Raina were seized earlier.
How the Alleged Money Trail Worked
According to the ED, the celebrities allegedly entered into endorsement agreements with foreign companies to promote 1xBet in India. Payments were routed through foreign intermediaries and layered transactions to conceal the illegal origin of funds, which investigators claim were proceeds of unlawful betting operations.
The agency further revealed that 1xBet was operating in India without authorization, targeting Indian users through surrogate branding, social media promotions, online videos, and print advertisements.
The investigation remains ongoing, with officials indicating that more seizures and summons are likely as the money trail continues to widen.
