These recognitions reflect India’s rising global stature and Modi’s role in deepening strategic, economic, and people-to-people partnerships worldwide.

Final Leg of Three-Nation Tour

Oman marks the final stop of PM Modi’s three-nation diplomatic tour, which began on December 15 and included visits to Jordan and Ethiopia. The Prime Minister is scheduled to return to India later today after concluding his engagements in Muscat.

Earlier Honor from Ethiopia

Before arriving in Oman, PM Modi was also honored by Ethiopia with the ‘Great Order of the Star of Ethiopia’, presented by Ethiopian Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed Ali. Notably, Modi became the first Prime Minister in the world to receive this distinction.

Strengthening India–Oman Relations

The Order of Oman award comes at a time when India and Oman are significantly expanding cooperation in trade, investment, energy, defense, and the Indian diaspora, reinforcing Muscat’s role as a key partner in India’s Gulf strategy.
