Mohan Bhagwat: The True Meaning of Religion Is Not to Hurt Anyone, Prahlad Patel’s Book Narmada Parikrama Released in Indore

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat attended a special event in Indore to release the book Narmada Parikrama, written by the state’s Rural Development Minister Prahlad Patel. The ceremony witnessed the presence of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar, and several dignitaries.

While unveiling the book, Bhagwat underlined the essence of spirituality and unity in Indian culture. He remarked, “The real meaning of religion is not to hurt anyone. The world runs by religion, not logic. Knowledge and action are both essential; knowledge without action leads to problems.”

30-Year-Old Experiences Documented

Sharing his journey, Prahlad Patel revealed that the book is based on his personal experiences from three decades ago. He said, “Thirty years ago, I undertook the Narmada Parikrama while serving Gurudev, at a time when I had no political involvement. This journey was only possible through the blessings of Maa Narmada and Gurudev. I have now presented these experiences in the form of a book.”

🌱 A Call for Environmental Protection

Patel emphasized that true happiness comes not from external possessions but from inner spiritual growth. His book also conveys a strong message on environmental protection and the need for every individual to take a pledge to safeguard rivers and nature.

Bhagwat on Unity and Religion

Addressing the gathering, Mohan Bhagwat stressed the importance of unity and compassion. He said, “We were never divided. If divisions exist, we will unite them too. Quarrels happen because of the feelings of ‘I’ and ‘mine.’ Earlier, wrongdoings like throat-slitting and pickpocketing were limited to a few, but today the entire world is doing this.”

The event concluded with the collective message of spiritual strength, cultural values, and the responsibility to protect nature, as outlined in Patel’s book.
