Deoband, Uttar Pradesh: In a significant appeal ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr, Darul Uloom Deoband has urged the Muslim community to offer their Eid prayers inside mosques and refrain from conducting congregational prayers on public roads. The move aims to maintain communal harmony, ensure smooth public movement, and uphold legal and civic responsibilities.
A Call for Orderly Observance of Eid Prayers
The acting Mohtamim of Darul Uloom Deoband, Maulana Abdul Khaliq Madrasi, has issued a statement emphasizing the importance of discipline and respect for public order during the grand celebration of Eid. He has called upon all worshippers to perform their prayers within the premises of their nearest mosque, preventing any disruptions to traffic and pedestrian movement.
“Islam teaches us discipline and order. Offering prayers in designated places helps in maintaining peace and ensures that our celebrations do not inconvenience others,” said Maulana Madrasi.
Appeal Echoes Across Uttar Pradesh
The call for a peaceful and structured prayer arrangement has found resonance in other parts of the state as well. In Shamli, Maulana Mohammad Hazrat Aqeel of Badrul Uloom Madrasa released a video appeal emphasizing communal harmony and the importance of adhering to government guidelines.
He stated, “Our religion encourages us to be considerate of others. Offering prayers in mosques not only aligns with Islamic teachings but also helps in fostering goodwill within the community.”
Government and Security Measures in Place
In light of the appeal, local authorities and law enforcement agencies are making necessary arrangements to facilitate a hassle-free Eid celebration. Security measures have been heightened to manage large crowds, and additional mosque spaces are being arranged to accommodate more worshippers.
Authorities have also urged religious leaders and community members to support this initiative and cooperate in ensuring a peaceful observance of the festival.
A Step Towards Communal Harmony
Eid-ul-Fitr marks the culmination of the holy month of Ramadan and is a time of celebration, charity, and prayer. By conducting prayers within mosques, the community aims to balance religious devotion with civic responsibilities, ensuring that the festivities remain peaceful and inclusive for all.
This move is being widely appreciated as a step toward maintaining law and order while upholding the spirit of brotherhood and harmony that Eid represents.
