Intelligence agencies warn of major terror attacks during New Year celebration

A big terrorist attack is being planned from across the border on New Year. Intelligence agencies have alerted security agencies about this. BSF and Army have also been advised to remain alert, while other paramilitary forces including police have been asked to strengthen the internal security system. According to sources, terrorists can target security establishments by infiltrating from the border and LoC of Samba, Kathua and Jammu, so that New Year can be disrupted.

Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists are planning to carry out attacks. Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI has put pressure on the terrorist organization to carry out a big attack by crossing the border at any cost. Three terrorists of Jaish were killed on Akhnoor LoC a few months ago. These terrorists were also sent with the intention of carrying out a big attack, but could not succeed. Sources also say that for a long time terrorists have not been able to commit any crime in Jammu and Samba districts, so pressure is being built to attack both the districts.

According to sources, terrorists can use tunnels for infiltration, because at present there are no crops on the border. There are dense bushes at many places. In the past too, terrorists have tried to infiltrate by digging tunnels many times.

The Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) branch of Jammu and Kashmir Police raided six places in the state including Anantnag district jail in a case related to terrorism. An official said that CIK teams reached the district jail in Mattan, Anantnag on Saturday morning. Blocks and barracks inside the jail were searched.

Raids were also conducted in Sonigam and Chawalgam of Kulgam district. As part of the investigation, two hideouts were also searched in Udhampur and Jammu districts. During the raid, six to eight digital devices including mobile phones and tablets were recovered. The official said that this action was taken to detect technical equipment inside the jail premises and to identify terrorist helpers in the investigation of the terrorism case.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has conducted a marathon interrogation of a suspected youth, resident of Arambagh in Hooghly district of Bengal, at its Kolkata office on suspicion of having links with terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed. The youth has been identified as Sabiruddin Ali. The NIA raided his house in Sanapara locality on Thursday.

Cash, laptop, a mobile phone, pen drive and some documents were seized from his house during the raid. According to sources, he was not at home at the time of the raid. The officials had called Sabiruddin and his father Sheikh Saifuddin Ali for questioning by giving notice to the family members.

They were questioned at the Salt Lake office. According to sources, the NIA suspects that Sabiruddin is associated with the Pakistani terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed. However, NIA officials have refused to say anything in this regard at the moment. On the other hand, people of the area are surprised by the raid on Sabiruddin’s house. Some neighbors say that Sabiruddin is a brilliant young man.
