North korean intelligence agent charged with cyber attacks on us health care

Washington : Federal prosecutors charge North Korean hacker Rim Jong Hyok with cyber attacks on US health care systems, disrupting patient care and targeting global defense, technology, and government entities . The Federal prosecutors announced that a man working in North Korea’s military intelligence agencies has been accused of participating in a conspiracy to hack into the cyber cell of American health care providers.

A grand jury in Kansas has detained Rim Jong Hyok, who is accused of laundering ransom money and using that money to launch additional cyber attacks on defense, technology and government entities around the world, officials said. He said that hacking on American hospitals and other health care providers disrupted the treatment of patients.
