In its quest to empower women, the Indian Navy has released an advance notification for girls. The opportunity was earlier only for boys, with five of the 35 vacancies being for the education branch and thirty for the executive and technical branch of the Navy.
Navy will release additional vacancies or reduce seats for boys to accommodate girls. Navy will publish notification in May 2023 for girls and boys with eligibility above 70 per cent in PCM in class 12th and short listing will be based on JEE Mains All India Common Merit List. The date of birth should be between July 2, 2004 to January 1, 2005.
These norms are for both girls and boys. However online application will be done in May 2023 for girls and boys. Col Nikhil Dewanji, who imparts training for NDA and SSB, said the shortlisted candidates will be informed by SMS and email for a five-day Services Selection Board interview at Naval SSB centres.
Selected candidates will join the Indian Naval Academy in December 2023. Undergo four years of B.Tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering at the expense of Govt. Col. Nikhil Dewanji said that in the third year of B.Tech, cadets also get monetary benefits.
