The Union budget for the year 2011-12 would benefit small and poor farmers :Selja

Union Minister for Housing and Poverty Alleviation, Ms Selja today said that the Union budget for the year 2011-12  would benefit small and poor farmers  and give boost to  the health and education sectors.

Ms Selja, who laid the foundation stone of ‘ghaat’ and ‘park’ to be set up at a cost of  Rs.82 lakh along Yamuna river near Mahadev math at Kalesar in Yamananagar, said that government was endeavoring to overcome the price rise  situation. The schemes and programmes of the government were being evaluated from time to time. She said that work of Yamunanagar-Bilaspur-Sadhaura-Chandigarh railway line would soon be started as Union Railway Minister, Ms Mamta Banerjee had stated to get it start soon. She said that mining work being done on Yamuna bank in Uttar Pradesh was illegal and matter would be discussed with the government.

The Minister said that ‘Yamuna Tat’ would be constructed on Yamuna river on the pattern of Ganges in Haridwar and Lord Shiva’s statue would also be installed. She said that tourist places like Aadibadri, Kapalmochan, Kalesar, Chaneti Bodh Stupa, Tajewala Rest House and Herbal park would be beautified and more facilities would be provided for tourists This would generate more revenue for the area and provide employment opportunities to youth, she added.
