Zelensky Calls Putin “Man of War” Following Massive Kyiv Airstrike

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has labeled Russian President Vladimir Putin a “Man of War” after one of the largest drone and missile attacks on the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv. He urged the international community to take decisive action against Russia.

Reports indicate that Russia launched over 500 drones and more than 40 missiles in a coordinated strike targeting Kyiv and surrounding areas. The attack, which lasted nearly ten hours, damaged residential neighborhoods and critical energy infrastructure. At least two people were killed, and four others sustained injuries. Air raid alerts remained in place for several hours, causing widespread power outages.

Speaking at an event in Canada, Zelensky condemned the Russian assault and accused Putin of prolonging the war instead of seeking peace. “We want peace, but Putin is a man of war,” Zelensky stated. He called on world leaders to take firm measures, both on the frontlines and diplomatically, to stop the aggression.

The attack coincided with Zelensky’s preparations to meet US President Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago, Florida, where discussions on a potential peace plan and US security guarantees are expected. Zelensky has also engaged with NATO and European leaders in Canada.

Rescue teams in Kyiv are working to evacuate people trapped in debris while firefighting and repair operations continue. Electricity and heating services in several areas remain disrupted following the strike.
