Mumbai – : Taking forward its Make in India campaign in the Indian market, Xiaomi has partnered with electronics manufacturer Optiemus. This strategic collaboration aims to boost local manufacturing and enhance Xiaomi’s presence in the audio product segment. Under this partnership, Xiaomi has decided to produce all its wireless audio products in India. The manufacturing facility will be based in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, at Optiemus’ factory.
Introduction
Xiaomi, a leading global technology company, has been actively involved in promoting the Make in India initiative. This initiative encourages domestic production and aims to make India a hub for manufacturing electronic goods. By partnering with Optiemus, a renowned electronics manufacturer, Xiaomi aims to strengthen its commitment to local manufacturing and further expand its product offerings in the Indian market.
Xiaomi’s Manufacturing Plans
Xiaomi has set ambitious goals for local manufacturing in India. In addition to producing wireless audio products, the company plans to manufacture 50 percent of the parts used in their products within the country by 2025. This move not only contributes to the growth of the Indian manufacturing sector but also helps Xiaomi in streamlining its supply chain and reducing costs.
This announcement comes at a time when Samsung, a major competitor of Xiaomi, has recently surpassed Redmi to become the number-one smartphone brand in the Indian market. Xiaomi’s decision to expand its local manufacturing capabilities is a strategic move to regain its position and strengthen its foothold in the highly competitive Indian market.
Xiaomi’s Existing Manufacturing in India
Xiaomi has already established a strong manufacturing base in India. The company manufactures a significant portion of its smartphones and TVs within the country. By producing these devices locally, Xiaomi not only supports the Indian economy but also ensures faster product availability and better after-sales service for its customers.
Apart from smartphones and TVs, Xiaomi offers a wide range of audio products in India. These include speakers, earbuds, earphones, and other wireless audio devices. By shifting the production of these products to India, Xiaomi aims to cater to the growing demand for high-quality audio accessories while contributing to the nation’s self-reliance in the electronics sector.
Decrease in Revenue
Recently, Xiaomi faced a decline in revenue due to lower demand for its smartphones. In the last quarter, the company reported a significant decrease of 18.9 percent in its revenue. This decline can be attributed to various factors, including increased competition and changing consumer preferences. However, Xiaomi remains committed to the Indian market and is actively working on strategies to regain its growth momentum.
Introduction of Home Mobile Service
To provide a seamless experience to its customers, Xiaomi has introduced a new facility called Home Mobile Service. This service aims to simplify the process of setting up new Xiaomi phones for customers, particularly the elderly. Xiaomi’s dedicated team will visit customers’ homes and assist with tasks such as data transfer and phone setup.
To avail this service, customers can simply send a message on the designated WhatsApp number, 8861826286, to request phone repair or setup assistance. Additionally, Xiaomi has provided a customer support number, 18001036286, for any queries or concerns related to their products. These initiatives demonstrate Xiaomi’s customer-centric approach and its commitment to ensuring a hassle-free experience for its users.
Conclusion
Xiaomi’s partnership with Optiemus to manufacture wireless audio products in India is a significant step towards bolstering the Make in India campaign. By localizing production, Xiaomi aims to contribute to the Indian economy, create job opportunities, and deliver high-quality audio products to its customers. Despite recent challenges, Xiaomi remains dedicated to the Indian market and continues to innovate in order to meet the evolving needs of its consumers.
