Incidents of violence against Hindus are increasing continuously in Bangladesh. Despite the claims of Yunus government, minorities are being targeted. A mob of fundamentalists attacked the houses of Hindus in Sumanganj district.

The mob attacked the houses of Hindus yesterday. The violence was carried out by accusing a Hindu youth of blasphemy in a Facebook post.

The riotous mob vandalized the houses of more than 100 Hindus. Even the places of worship built in the house were not spared. According to the report of Times of India, more than 200 Hindu families have migrated recently.

After the allegations, the police arrested Akash Das (20) in Mangalargaon of Sumanganj on charges of blasphemy.

Former PM of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina gave a public address for the first time and accused the Yunus government of a deliberate genocide of minorities, especially Hindus.

She said that the Yunus government wants to kill me and my sister Rehana. In her virtual address at an event in New York on Bangladesh’s Victory Day, Hasina said that I had decided to leave Bangladesh to save people’s lives, not to save my own life.

On the other hand, the US Congressman issued a statement asking the interim government of Bangladesh to protect Hindu minorities and address the ongoing protests by Hindus and minority communities over the recent attacks and persecution.

Sherman urged the current administration to take action against violence targeting the Hindu community and show leadership in ensuring their safety. He said, “It is the absolute responsibility of the interim government of Bangladesh to protect its Hindu minorities and meaningfully address the protests of thousands of minority Hindus due to the recent attacks and persecution.”

Let us tell you that on October 25, violence broke out after the incident of hoisting a saffron flag over the national flag of Bangladesh in Chittagong. Priest Chinmay Krishna Das was arrested on the charge.
