Ayodhya : The Ramayana holds a revered place in Hinduism, narrating the birth and life journey of Lord Rama and Goddess Sita. Shanta: The Wise and Accomplished Sister
Born to King Dasharatha and Queen Kausalya, Shanta was the firstborn and possessed not only intelligence but also mastery in various skills. Legends say that Shanta’s marriage was solemnized with the sage Shringi at the hermitage near the Sarayu River, bordering Ayodhya.
The hermitage, constructed under the guidance of Guru Vashishtha, holds historical significance. It is believed that King Dasharatha, yearning for a male heir, conducted the Putrakameshti Yajna, a ritual facilitated by Sage Shringi. The Yajna eventually led to the birth of Lord Rama and his two brothers.

The aura of the Ashram is extraordinary, as locals attest that during annual floods, the Sarayu River miraculously spares the hermitage, symbolizing the divine protection Shanta enjoys even after her departure.

The Shringi Ashram becomes a focal point during Kartik Purnima, Chaitra Ram Navami, and the Chiraiya Nakshatra, hosting vibrant festivals and fairs.
