Uniform Civil Code Draft Report : Government Prepares for Legal Examination

New Delhi : According to the news, the draft report of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) is expected to be submitted to the government of India by next week. The expert committee responsible for preparing the draft has begun the process of printing it. Once the report is received, The government will examine its legal aspects before potentially calling an assembly session within the next month. It is anticipated that a decision regarding the assembly session may be taken during the state cabinet meeting on July 7.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, during his visit to New Delhi, has encouraged other states to move forward with the implementation of the UCC. He mentioned that discussions on the Uniform Civil Code have gained momentum in the country, and individuals are expressing their views in support of the UCC in various ways. The expert committee has finalized all the drafts after engaging with different social and religious organizations. Suggestions have been gathered from all stakeholders, with approximately 2.33 lakh people being consulted. The compiled report is currently being prepared.
