UK PM Keir Starmer Arrives in Mumbai: Vision 2035 Talks With PM Modi Underway
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer arrived in Mumbai on Wednesday for his first visit to India since taking office. His visit marks a significant step in strengthening India-UK relations amidst global economic uncertainty caused by US President Donald Trump’s tariff policies.
Starmer was welcomed at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy CMs Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, and Governor Acharya Devvrat. The British Prime Minister will participate in multiple programs in Mumbai, including discussions on Vision 2035 and the India-UK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

The three-day Global FinTech Fest 2025 in Mumbai will see participation from over 100,000 delegates from 75+ countries, including:

70 leading Indian and global regulatory institutions, such as the Monetary Authority of Singapore and Germany’s Deutsche Bundesbank
Both PM Modi and PM Starmer will attend the event, highlighting the importance of technology, innovation, and global finance partnerships under Vision 2035.

During his visit, PM Starmer will meet PM Modi to review the progress of the India-UK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership under the Vision 2035 Roadmap. Key areas of discussion include:
