TWO YEARS RIGOROUS IMPRISONMENT WITH FINE OF RS.FIVE LAKH TO THEN DEPUTY COMMISSIONER OF POLICE, DELHI IN A DISPROPORTIONATE ASSETS CASE

The Special Judge, CBI Cases, Patiala House Courts, New Delhi has convicted Shri B.S.Bola (Retired IPS Officer), then DCP, Delhi Police in a disproportionate assets case and sentenced him to undergo two years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs. Five Lakh.

The CBI had registered this case on 05.07.2001 under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 for the offence of acquiring huge assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. During the relevant period, Shri B.S.Bola, a 1993 Batch IPS officer of AGMU Cadre was working as Deputy Commissioner of Police(DCP), 10th Battallion, DAP, Delhi Police. After thorough investigation, CBI filed a chargesheet against the accused for amassing disproportionate assets to the tune of Rs.Ten Lakh(approx). During the trial, CBI examined 45 witnesses and relied upon 150 documents.

The Trial Court found the accused guilty and convicted him. The proceedings for the confiscation of properties of the convict Shri B.S.Bola will be initiated soon by the Court.
