Due to the rising cost, electronic companies increase the prices by about four per cent two-three times a year. By January this year, the prices of smartphones and other electronics were on an average 18-25 per cent higher than pre-corona prices.

Smartphones have become cheap this time with refrigerators and ACs which are usually expensive during the summer season. For the first time in three years, the prices of electronic goods have come down by up to Rs 4,000. The prices have been reduced by 5-10 per cent to reduce the cost of transportation and to sell the remaining stock quickly.

According to a senior company official, the demand for smartphones increased rapidly in 2020 and 2021. Mobile phone companies could not anticipate the demand properly last year and hence there is a lot of inventory lying for sale at the moment.

Due to this the prices decreased

According to an ICICI Securities report, aluminum prices fell 16.30 per cent year-on-year in February, steel 1.3 per cent and high-density polythene 7 per cent.
Freight prices have also come down. Semiconductor chip prices have been falling since last year due to a drop in global demand. It has decreased more than ten times as compared to the time of Corona epidemic.

Smartphones 5-15 percent cheaper

Some companies are selling smartphone models at 5 to 15 per cent cheaper. On this basis, a discount of three thousand rupees is being given on a phone worth Rs 20,000. Still there is a lack of demand.
