Maharashtra – Tushar Gandhi, the great-grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, on Monday announced the launch of the Satyagraha Padyatra, describing it as a march to strengthen and protect India’s Constitution. Addressing the media, he stated, “We are undertaking this padyatra with a message of love against the hatred being spread in society and politics by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and its affiliated organizations. If hatred increases, it will harm the unity of the country.”

He added that the march aims to protect love, brotherhood, and constitutional values within society, urging citizens to reject divisiveness and embrace harmony.

Supporting the initiative, Maharashtra Congress chief Harshvardhan Sapkal said, “This padyatra challenges the divisive foundations built by the RSS on untouchability and discrimination. Our goal is to make every Indian aware of the Constitution and the principles of truth and non-violence and to inspire them to adopt these values.”

Sapkal further emphasized that the padyatra is dedicated to protecting constitutional rights, equality, and social harmony, ensuring the preservation of India’s democratic fabric.

The march, which is set to cover multiple cities across Maharashtra, is being hailed as a symbolic reaffirmation of India’s core values of unity, equality, and non-violence, drawing inspiration from the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi.
