Three Years Rigorous Imprisonment To Then Deputy Director, ESIC In A Bribery CaseINVC,

The Special Judge for CBI Cases, Nagpur has convicted Sh. P.N. Dharmadhikari, then Dy. Director, Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), Nagpur and Sh. P.B. Bubukwar, Private Person U/s 7, 13(2) r/w 13 (1)(d) of PC Act, 1988 and Section 12 of PC Act, 1988 in a bribery case. The Court sentenced Sh. P.N. Dharmadhikari to undergo three years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs.7000/- and Sh. P.B. Bubukwar to undergo one year Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs.2000/-.
 
            CBI had registered a case against Sh. P.N. Dharmadhikari, then Dy. Director, ESIC, Nagpur and Sh. P.B. Bubukwar, Private Person on the basis of a complaint alleging that Shri Dharmadhikari, then Dy. Director, Employees State Insurance Corporation had demanded a bribe of Rs.10,000/- through private person from the complainant for releasing the seizure of bank accounts of the complainant, who was the Proprietor of a Hotel in Nagpur.
 
            After registration of the case, both the accused were caught red handed while demanding and accepting the bribe of Rs.10,000/- from the complainant. CBI had filed the chargesheet on 22.12.2005.
 
            The Trial Court found both the accused guilty and convicted them.
