Then deputy manager, Steel Authority of India Ltd. and two partners of a private firm sentenced in a CBI case

The Special Judge CBI Cases, Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh) has sentenced Sh. Sourabh Agarwal & Sh. Gaurav Agarwal, both partners of M/s Anil Kumar, Sonebhadra (Uttar Pradesh) to undergo three years Rigorous Imprisonment with a fine of Rs. 20,000/- and Sh. N K Biswas, then Deputy Manager (F&A), Steel Authority of India Ltd., Raw Material Department (RMD), Bhawanathpur Lime Stone Mines, District Garhwa (Jharkhand) to undergo two years Rigorous Imprisonment with a fine of Rs. 10,000/-.

CBI had registered a case against the accused persons on the allegations of entering into conspiracy for awarding 19 NCL contracts worth Rs. 6,82,77,134/- to M/s Anil Kumar on the basis of false past Experience Certificates purported to have been issued by the Raw Material Department, Steel Authority of India Ltd, Bhawanathpur. The period was 2003-06.

After investigation, a chargesheet was filed on 31.05.2012 against the accused persons U/s 120-B, 420, 468 & 471 of IPC and section 13(2) r/w 13(1) (d) of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 in the Court of Special Judge, CBI Cases, Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh).

The Trial Court found the accused guilty and convicted them.
