South Indian superstar Prabhas’ upcoming film The Raja Saab has emerged as one of the most anticipated releases of 2026. Ahead of its theatrical debut, the makers have intensified promotions, hosting a grand pre-release event on Friday, December 27, attended by the full cast, crew, and thousands of fans.
During the event, director Maruthi expressed strong confidence in the film’s success and made a bold statement that quickly grabbed attention. Addressing the audience, he said that if even one percent of viewers—whether fans of the “Rebel Star” or family audiences—felt disappointed after watching the film, they were welcome to question him directly at his home. He went on to publicly share his address, drawing loud applause from the crowd. Prabhas, who was present on stage, reacted with a quiet smile as the director spoke.
Maruthi became emotional while speaking about Prabhas’ dedication to the film, highlighting the actor’s relentless effort to match the scale and vision of The Raja Saab. As the director shared these moments, Prabhas walked up and embraced him on stage, earning a warm response from fans.
A Never-Seen-Before Avatar of Prabhas
Speaking about Prabhas’ role, Maruthi said Telugu audiences may have seen the actor in entertainer roles before, but pan-India audiences have never witnessed him in this form. He assured fans that Prabhas’ look, character design, and screen presence would leave a lasting impression, calling it a cinematic experience never before seen on Indian screens.
Release Date and Cast Details
Written and directed by Maruthi, The Raja Saab is scheduled to release in theaters on January 9, 2026. Although officially announced in January 2024, the film went into production back in 2022. It was initially slated for release on December 5, 2025, before being postponed to January.
Alongside Prabhas, the film stars Nidhhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan, Sanjay Dutt, and Riddhi Kumar in key roles.
