Three terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in Akhnoor area of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday. Officials said here that the encounter started when the terrorists opened fire on the army ambulance in the morning. However, there is no news of anyone being injured in the attack yet. The security forces immediately retaliated and cordoned off the area and started a search operation. After which firing started from both sides. Sources said that three terrorists were killed and their bodies have been recovered. At present the search operation is going on.

While fleeing from there, the terrorists fired on the army ambulance. Jammu SSP said that it is believed that three terrorists were seen near Asan Mandir in Akhnoor of Jammu district. They fired a few rounds on the army ambulance. The area has been cordoned off and the police and security forces have started a joint search operation. Three terrorists were seen at Shiv Asan Mandir located in Batal, a border village in Palanwala sector on the LoC at around 7.15 am. They were in army uniform. All three were armed.
The terrorists took hostage three students who had come to the temple for tuition. But released them after some time.
