A meeting was convened under the Chairmanship of DPI (School), today which was attended by S/STA, and the Representatives of Private Schools and the following decisions were taken .During the meeting It was directed that henceforth transport fee will be charged from the students for 11 months instead of 12 months and the fee will be charged on monthly basis. Separate transport fee card will be issued for the payment of transport fee and it will not be clubbed in the school fee or other charges. All buses which have exceeded their life span of 15 years will not be allowed to ply and will be impounded.
The drivers of all school transport buses will be in proper uniform indicating his name, and driver number and hold a valid driving license. It was further decided that drivers will keep fire fighting equipment, first aid kits and keep the emergency door well lubricated.
The bus operators will display “In case of negligent driving, please contact office of State Transport Authority, UT, Sector 18 Chandigarh, Telephone No. 0172-2700159” at the back of each bus. No vehicle will be allowed to ply without fitment of speed governors and valid permit/ passing. Conductors should be qualified and in uniform as per laid down condition. The school should have signed a contract with the bus operators with specific terms and conditions before the bus can ply with the school.
