Tata Group’s $600 Million Deal Paves the Way for Indian-Made iPhones in the Market

Mumbai  : The Tata Group may soon acquire Apple’s iPhone manufacturing factory in India. Tata is close to its agreement. This will be the first time that an Indian company will work to make the iPhone. Apple’s supplier Wistron’s factory is in Karnataka. The value of the deal could be around $600 million. 10,000 people work here.

Wistron is targeting to manufacture iPhones worth at least $1.8 billion from this factory in the current financial year, so that it can get government incentives. The iPhone 14 model is assembled from this factory. It has also planned to triple the number of employees by next year.

Wistron wants to exit the iPhone business in India. According to sources, Wistron has decided to exit the Apple business completely. The Tata Group has recently entered into electronics manufacturing. The metal backbone of the iPhone is made at the company’s factory in Tamil Nadu.
