Suzuki Motorcycle India has announced a major recall of 5,145 units of its popular Gixxer 250 and Gixxer SF 250 motorcycles. The recall has been issued due to a rear brake problem, which could affect the safety of riders.
The company confirmed that this recall covers bikes manufactured between February 2022 and June 2026. Suzuki has assured customers that the problem will be fixed completely free of cost at authorized service centers.
🔧 What is the problem in Suzuki Gixxer 250?
Suzuki revealed that the rear brake caliper assembly of the V-Strom 250 was mistakenly installed in some units of the Gixxer 250 series. This caused improper contact between the brake pad and the brake disc, leading to:
Uneven brake pad wear
Reduced braking performance
Possible risk to rider safety
🛠️ Free repair for all affected bikes
Suzuki has started contacting customers directly. Owners are advised to book an appointment at their nearest service center, where company technicians will inspect and repair the issue at no cost.
This is not the first recall by Suzuki. Back in February 2024, the brand recalled the Gixxer 250, Gixxer SF 250 and V-Strom SX models due to an engine camshaft defect.
