Supreme Court Grants Bail to Arvind Kejriwal in Excise Policy Case After 104 Days in Jail

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been granted bail by the Supreme Court in the excise policy corruption case. After 104 days in custody, Kejriwal is set to be released following a ruling on two petitions.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has got bail today from the Supreme Court in the excise policy scam case. The Supreme Court today gave its verdict on two petitions. On the first petition, the court considered the arrest of the CBI as valid. At the same time, while giving its verdict on the second petition, the court granted bail to Kejriwal, a bench headed by Justice Suryakant had reserved the decision on Kejriwal’s petitions on 2024 September 5. The CBI arrested the Aam Aadmi Party chief in this case on June 26, 2024.

Justice Suryakant ruled to grant regular bail to Chief Minister Kejriwal in the excise policy corruption case. In this regard, Justice Ujjwal Bhuiyan agreed with his decision. The court granted bail to Kejriwal on a bond of Rs 10 lakh and two bail amounts. On the petition related to the arrest of the CBI, the court said that the arrest of the appellant was not illegal.

Kejriwal got bail from the Supreme Court on July 12, 2024 in the ED case. In such a situation, now the way for him to come out of jail is clear. He surrendered 104 days ago i.e. on 2 June 2024 after the expiry of his interim bail. It is believed that he can come out of jail today itself.
