Mumbai,
Amazon miniTV’s romedy series Udan Patolas has been receiving heaps of praise from the viewers since the time of its release as it celebrates sisterhood and girl gang bonding. The show revolves around four friends Punni, Lovelle, Amrit, and Noor who relocate to Mumbai from a small-town to live their dreams of blending in the city’s high society. The ‘Patolas’ — Apoorva Arora (Punni), Sukhmani Sadana (Lovelle), Poppy Jabbal (Amrit), and Aassttha Ssidana (Noor) — have truly painted the town red with their fun-filled portrayals.
Speaking about her character in the series, actor-writer Sukhmani Sadana said, “My character, Lovelle, is guarded and very secretive. Nobody knows what’s going on inside her mind. Despite being a writer of this show, I found it very difficult to crack the character because of her grey layers. Honestly, it’s easier to pick a black or a white, but Lovelle has a very complex character. I am happy that I got the opportunity to play this character, which has taught me a lot. It was like a dream come true.”
On the other hand, Poppy played the role of Amrit, a very chilled-out woman. “If Amrit isn’t working, she chills at home, likes being on her boyfriend’s money and takes life easy. But I’m quite opposite to her, off-screen! I need my work to validate my dreams and push me to work towards that. Interestingly, enacting Amrit has taught me that it’s okay to put few things in the backburner and live in the moment,” said Poppy Jabbal.
Produced by Applause Entertainment in association with Sol Productions, the show is exclusively streaming now on Amazon miniTV, accessible through the Amazon shopping app.
