New Delhi.The stimulus package given to Print Media has been extended for six months from 30th June, 2009 to 31st December, 2009. The measure was announced as part of the Union Budget 2009-2010 today. In February, the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting had enhanced the existing rates for the DAVP advertisements on the demand of captains of media industry. The fiscal stimulus package for the Print Media included waiver of 15% Agency Commission on DAVP advertisements and a 10% increase in the DAVP rates (to be paid as a separate element and designated as ‘special relief’) subject to documentary proof of loss of revenue in non-governmental advertisements
