Mumbai : Rahul Gandhi is contesting the Lok Sabha elections from Rae Bareli in Uttar Pradesh. While BJP has targeted him for not contesting elections from Amethi, Sanjay Raut, leader of Shiv Sena-UBT, a constituent of the India alliance, has taken the BJP to task. Raut says that whether Rahul Gandhi contests elections from anywhere, what does BJP have to do with it?
While talking to the media on Saturday, Sanjay Raut said, “More people have contested the elections from Amethi. Who has been very close to Gandhi’s family. Many such people have fought from Amethi. Many people have contested from RK Dhawan and once upon a time Jawahar Lal Nehru had also contested the elections. What does BJP have to do with who is fighting from where? You contest your elections.
Sanjay Raut claimed that even an ordinary Congress worker will defeat Smriti Irani. Raut said, “I feel a lot of pity and pity for Smriti Irani. Now she is going to lose to Rahul Gandhi’s PA. This is a very thoughtful decision. KL Sharma is a loyal worker of the Congress Party. He has worked with Rahul ji and Priyanka ji for years. He is a grassroots worker.
Sanjay Raut said, “What problem does BJP have if a grassroots worker contests elections?” Only Congress workers are contesting the elections and they are not brought from outside like BJP brings from outside to contest elections. KL Sharma is going to win the election. An ordinary Congress worker will defeat Smriti Irani.
