District Smart School Mentors (DSSMs) and Assitant Co-ordinators (ACs) of Self-Made Smart School, Punjab today called on Punjab Education Minister O.P. Soni and apprised about their efforts to convert government schools into smart schools.
On this occasion, Mr. Soni said that State Award will be given to teachers and principals who will show their outstanding performance to convert government schools into Smart ones. Regarding filling the vacant posts in the department, he said that the direct quota posts of principals will be filled soon. During meeting, a presentation was given by teachers, who are committed to convert their schools into Smart schools with their own efforts.
Teachers informed that 2.5 lakh children were enrolled in pre-primary schools with their consistent efforts. They also assured that the result of this time would be 25 percent better than previous. Besides, they apprised that they have been created NGO ‘Social Participation in Quality Education’ at their own level, which is engaged to convert schools in smart ones with the help of renowned people.
On this occasion Education Minister announced to give one lakh rupees to the smart schools, whereas Secretary School Education Mr. Krishan Kumar has given about 11 thousand for this purpose. The Education Secretary explained to the teachers about the increasing numbers in admission in government schools, on which Mr Soni congratulated the teachers and they persuaded them to work diligently. He said that the projector and other equipment for smart schools would be provided by the government soon.
During the meeting, all District Smart Schools Mentors and Assistant Coordinator were present.
