Seoul, November 22, 2025:
Samsung Electronics has promoted TM Roh, the current head of its mobile business, to Co-CEO and chief of the Device eXperience (DX) division, placing him in charge of the company’s expansive portfolio of smartphones, televisions, and home appliances. The major leadership restructuring is designed to strengthen product integration and sharpen Samsung’s competitive edge against Apple and fast-growing Chinese manufacturers.
Roh—widely credited for driving innovation in the Galaxy smartphone lineup, including advancements in AI features and foldable-display technology—will now oversee a broader strategy focused on unifying user experiences across Samsung’s ecosystem. Executives say the move reflects Samsung’s intensified push toward premium devices and seamless cross-device functionality.
Industry analysts note that the leadership shift comes at a pivotal moment as global smartphone sales stabilize following the post-2025 recovery. With the DX division responsible for nearly half of Samsung’s revenue, Roh’s expanded role is expected to accelerate investment in R&D, next-generation foldables, AI-driven software, and deeper ecosystem synergy.
The appointment also signals Samsung’s determination to solidify its lead in high-end consumer electronics while optimizing product pipelines for greater efficiency and competitiveness.
