Moscow : Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has warned the US over supplying arms to Ukraine. He said the US should not cross the line over the Ukraine conflict. It is starting to lose a sense of mutual restraint with Russia. Describing it as dangerous, he said he hopes Washington will realise the potential consequences of supplying arms to Ukraine.
On Thursday, Russian President Vladimir Putin named India among the three countries with whom he is in constant contact over the Ukraine conflict. Said that they are making sincere efforts to resolve it. Putin’s remarks came within two weeks of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s historic visit to Ukraine, where he held talks with President Zelensky.
According to a Russian news agency report, in an interview, Lavrov said the Americans had crossed their own red lines over the supply of arms to Ukraine. ‘The US should understand that there is nothing to be fooled by our red lines. And they know very well where they are.’
He said, ‘US National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said the issue of increasing support for Ukraine should be carefully considered so as not to provoke a third world war, as it would be sad to see Europe destroyed.’ He said, ‘I believe that there are reasonable people left there with significant influence and I hope that America’s interests will be taken into account.’
In conclusion, Russia’s recent warnings to the US about the Ukraine conflict underscore escalating tensions and concerns over international diplomacy. Sergei Lavrov’s remarks highlight Russia’s view that Washington is breaching established boundaries and jeopardizing mutual restraint, which could have significant consequences for global stability. Meanwhile, President Putin’s acknowledgment of India’s role in seeking a resolution reflects the complex web of international relations surrounding the conflict. As the situation evolves, it remains crucial for all parties to navigate these diplomatic challenges carefully to avoid further escalation and work towards a peaceful resolution.
