Russia-Ukraine War: Deadly Missile Strike Hits Dnipro as Zelenskyy Visits Front-Line Kupiansk

Kyiv, Ukraine : As of December 13, 2025, marking day 1,388 of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the war shows no signs of easing, with fresh Russian missile and drone attacks causing civilian casualties and renewed fighting across eastern regions.

Ukrainian authorities reported that a Russian Iskander missile strike hit the city of Dnipro, killing at least four civilians and injuring more than 40 others. Emergency services said residential buildings and critical infrastructure were damaged in the attack, which forms part of a broader escalation in long-range strikes.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on December 12 made a high-profile visit to Kupiansk in the Kharkiv region, a front-line town facing intense Russian pressure. Zelenskyy released a video message from the area, praising Ukrainian troops for their resilience amid continued artillery shelling and ground assaults.

According to Ukrainian military officials, Russia has launched over 450 drones and more than 30 missiles in recent waves of attacks, targeting energy facilities, transport hubs, and urban centers. The sustained bombardment has deepened Ukraine’s humanitarian challenges as winter conditions intensify.

The conflict continues to draw international attention, with Western military aid, economic sanctions on Russia, and humanitarian assistance remaining central to diplomatic efforts. Meanwhile, global humanitarian agencies have warned of overlapping crises, including weather-related emergencies in other conflict zones, underscoring the broader toll of ongoing wars.

With no immediate diplomatic breakthrough in sight, the Russia-Ukraine war remains one of the most destabilizing conflicts shaping global security in 2025.
