Moscow — : Russia is making headlines by extending a surprising offer to billionaire Elon Musk. After a major fallout between Musk and US President Donald Trump, Russia has stepped in, saying it’s ready to give Musk political asylum if he wants it.
This big statement came from Dmitry Novikov, Deputy Chairman of Russia’s State Duma Committee on International Affairs. He was asked whether Musk could be given asylum like American whistleblower Edward Snowden, who has been staying in Russia for years. Novikov replied, “Musk is a special person. He doesn’t need asylum right now, but if he ever does, Russia is ready to help.”
Musk-Trump Friendship Turns Into Open Fight
There was a time when Elon Musk and Donald Trump were seen as allies. Musk supported Trump’s rise to power and even spent huge sums to back him. But once Trump became President, their relationship quickly turned sour. Today, both openly criticize each other — not just in interviews but also on social media.
Russia seems to be using this political drama to its advantage by signaling support for Musk. Experts say this is more than just talk — it could be part of a bigger global strategy to influence powerful voices in tech and politics.
Whether Musk accepts the offer or not, Russia’s unexpected move has already sparked global reactions — and it’s being closely watched by both the tech world and international diplomats.
