Mumbai | December 1, 2025 :

Bollywood’s December 2025 release calendar heats up with powerhouse films promising to dominate the box office and captivate audiences nationwide. Taking center stage is Ranveer Singh’s high-octane political thriller, “Dhurandhar,” directed by acclaimed filmmaker Aditya Dhar. Scheduled for theatrical release on December 5, 2025, “Dhurandhar” features Singh as a rogue cop uncovering deep-rooted corruption. With a star-studded cast including Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna, and Arjun Rampal, and an expansive budget estimated at ₹280 crore, the film is generating immense buzz.

Early projections forecast a ₹150 crore opening weekend, signaling a blockbuster potential that could redefine year-end box office records. The film’s gripping narrative draws inspiration from true intelligence operations, offering a raw, intense cinematic experience that has become the talk of town since its trailer premiere in November.

Hot on the heels of “Dhurandhar” is “Ikkis,” releasing December 19, a poignant war drama marking 90-year-old Dharmendra’s final bow to acting, co-starring debutant Agastya Nanda. Produced under Ashutosh Gowariker’s banner, “Ikkis” revisits the 1971 Indo-Pak war, echoing the patriotic spirit of classics like “Lagaan.” Anticipated for its emotional depth and historical significance, the film promises to strike a chord with audiences drawn to evocative storytelling.

Bollywood’s December slate also delivers variety with “Kis Kis Ko Pyaar Karoon 2,” releasing December 5, offering comedic escapism with Kapil Sharma and Tusshar Kapoor, and “Tu Meri Main Tera,” a rom-com road trip featuring Ananya Panday and Kartik Aaryan, set for December 26. Additional releases such as “The Bengal Files” and the crime saga “Relay” starring Manoj Bajpayee enrich the lineup, catering to diverse viewer preferences.

Trade analysts are optimistic about an aggregate box office haul of ₹800 crore, propelled by increasing multiplex availability and an engaged social media audience—#DecemberBollywood trailers have amassed over 2 million views, reflecting vibrant consumer anticipation. This robust lineup encapsulates Bollywood’s evolution, blending star power and content-driven narratives to counter OTT platform dominance.
