Mumbai :  Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra reached Nandurbar in Maharashtra in the last leg. This place was once a Congress stronghold. Today Rahul Gandhi told the public – If his party forms the government, it will conduct caste census and economic survey. It will also strengthen the Forest Rights Act.

Rahul also promised to bring a law guaranteeing minimum support price (MSP) for agricultural and forest produce. Nandurbar is the same seat where no one could defeat Congress for 47 years. Last time Sonia Gandhi visited Nandurbar was in 2010. After about 14 years, a member from the Gandhi family has reached here. This place is also special because in 2010, former PM Manmohan Singh had launched the Aadhaar card from Tembhali village of Nandurbar.

Rahul said during the visit that BJP has weakened laws like Forest Rights Act, Land Acquisition Act. We will not only strengthen them but also ensure that the claims of the tribals are settled within a year. Rahul alleged that Bharatiya Janata Party governments wrongly rejected thousands of claims under the Forest Rights Act and denied tribals access to forests.
