“During his U.S. visit, Rahul Gandhi criticized the BJP and RSS for their perceived views on Indian languages and cultures, arguing that they undermine India’s diverse and inclusive nature.”

Washington : While talking to students and teachers in America, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi said, India is a union of languages, traditions and religions, when Indian people visit their religious places, they merge with their deity. This is the nature of India. During this, Rahul Gandhi targeted BJP and RSS and said that the misunderstanding of BJP and RSS is that they think that India is a group of different things, I do not hate Narendra Modi, I do not agree with his point of view, but I do not hate him either. On many occasions I sympathize with him.
At the same time, Rahul Gandhi took a dig at the Bharatiya Janata Party on the pretext of RSS and said that the ruling party does not understand that the country is for everyone, while only one ideology is important for them, who have headquarters in Nagpur. Speaking to NRIs at an event in Herndon, Virginia, the Congress leader referred to the different dishes on a thali of food to illustrate India’s diversity.
Rahul Gandhi further alleged that the RSS believes that some states and communities are inferior to others. This is what the fight is about. We believe that everyone has their own history, tradition and language. Each one of them is as important as anyone else. What will you do if someone tells you that you cannot speak Tamil? How will you feel? How will you react? This is the ideology of the RSS – that Tamil, Marathi, Bengali, Manipuri – are all inferior languages.
The fight is about what kind of India we want. Do we want an India where people are allowed to believe what they want to believe? … or do we want an India where only a few people can decide what is going to happen, the Congress leader said.
Rahul Gandhi’s remarks are part of a larger discussion on India’s cultural and political identity, especially as it relates to the current ruling party’s policies and ideological positions. The reaction to these comments can vary widely depending on political affiliations and perspectives on national unity and diversity.
