A shocking case has emerged from Greater Noida, where a woman tragically lost her life after consuming milk from a rabies-infected cow. While most people associate rabies with animal bites, few realize that this deadly infection can also spread through contaminated milk.
How Did the Woman Get Infected?
The woman, a resident of Greater Noida, unknowingly consumed milk from a cow that had been bitten by a rabid street dog. The family was unaware of the incident and continued to consume the infected cow’s milk. It was only when the cow started exhibiting rabies symptoms that the truth came to light. By then, it was already too late.
Although other villagers who had consumed the milk took immediate rabies vaccinations, the woman did not. As a result, she developed the deadly infection, which ultimately led to her death.
Rabies Symptoms and the Tragic End
After contracting rabies, the woman started showing classic symptoms such as:
- Extreme fear of water (hydrophobia)
- Panic attacks and sudden aggression
- Aversion to light
- Uncontrollable screaming and paranoia
As her condition worsened, the family rushed her to various hospitals, but no medical institution could provide effective treatment. Eventually, the district hospital advised the family to take her home, where she succumbed to the infection.
