Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala said that an amount of Rs. 600 crores will be spent for the restoration of ponds and johads located in villages across Haryana and for drainage of water from the respective villages. In the first phase, about 3,000 villages of the state have been selected for this work. The Deputy Chief Minister also announced that Pundri will be given the status of a sub-division.
The Deputy Chief Minister was addressing a public meeting after inaugurating and laying the foundation stone of projects worth more than Rs. 38.41 crore for Pundri area of Kaithal district today. He said that today the foundation stone of schemes worth Rs. 29.68 crore have been laid for the Pundri region, while projects worth Rs. 8.72 crore have been inaugurated. In the entire Haryana State, development works are being taken to the doorsteps of the people on priority basis.
Sh. Dushyant Chautala said that the State Government has done commendable work in the field of investment. He mentioned that Rs 28,000 crore have been invested in the state, under which new dimensions of progress have been ensured and the economy of the state has become relatively better. He added that the State Government has also worked to provide new employment opportunities. In the government sector as well as in the private sector, work is being done to give jobs to the youth on priority basis. He said that we have completed 43 percent of our announcements so far. He added that 50 percent participation of women has been ensured in Panchayati Raj Institutions and the representation of OBCs has been increased to 8 percent. Apart from this, a provision has been made to allot 30 percent ration depots to women.
He further said that in view of the Rabi season, about 400 mandis and procurement centres have been set up across the State and procurement of wheat will begin from April 1. He said that the farmers will be paid procurement amount within 72 hours in their bank accounts. Directions have already been given to the concerned procurement agencies regarding this matter.
He also said that till now Rs. 197 crore has been sanctioned for Pundri area, under which the work of construction of roads has also started. Apart from this, an estimated amount of Rs. 200 crore has been approved for the roads of Guhla assembly constituency.
