Pradip Mehra, IAS, gave away the prizes to the prize winners

On the third concluding day of the rose festival 2011 Adviser to the Administrator, Sh. Pradip Mehra, IAS, gave away the prizes to the prize winners of the various competitions held during three days, in an impressive Prize distribution function largely attended by the people from all walks of life. Home Secretary Sh. Ram Niwas, IAS, Finance Secretary, Sh. V.K.Singh, IAS and other officers of Chandigarh Administration were also present on this occasion.

On the spot painting competition and rose Quiz competition were held today. The event of on the spot painting competition is being held as a regular feature to provide an opportunity to the young growing children to express their thoughts, creativity and understanding of different colours of the world in which they are to adjust and progress in the coming years of the future ahead of them. It is becoming more and more popular year by year. This year it has seen a record entry of 725 participants.

Sh. Vipan Pabbi, Resident Editor of Indian Express was the Chief Guest. He applauded the efforts of organizer and encouraged the participants. Ten students of fine Arts College exhibited their art. One of them made on the spot pencil sketch of the chief guest which was presented to the chief guest as a memento of the competition in the Rose Festival 2011. Every participant was gifted with pack of crayon colour by the organizers. The Competition was conducted for different age group i.e. five year to eight years, above eight to 11 years, above 11 to 14 years and above 14 to 17 years. 576 children participated enthusiastically.
