Prabhas-starrer ” The Raja Saab ” has received major relief from the Telangana High Court just a day before its theatrical release, easing concerns surrounding ticket price regulations for the film.
The division bench of Justice Moushumi Bhattacharya and Justice Gadi Praveen Kumar clarified that an earlier court order restricting ticket price hikes applied only to a limited set of big-budget films and does not cover The Raja Saab. As a result, the film’s producers are not bound by the previous prohibition.
The court observed that the December 9 order issued by a single judge was specifically limited to select titles, including Pushpa 2, Game Changer, OG, and Akhanda 2. Since The Raja Saab and megastar Chiranjeevi’s Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu were not part of that list, the restriction does not extend to them.
During the hearing, the court stated that the issue of ticket price hikes for both films would be subject to the discretion of the Telangana state government. Counsel representing the producers informed the bench that applications seeking permission for enhanced ticket prices and show revisions had already been submitted to the state Home Department.
The filmmakers argued that the earlier restriction was legally unsustainable and warned that continued enforcement could result in significant financial losses. They also urged authorities to expedite a decision on their applications.
Directed by Maruthi, The Raja Saab is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on January 9, 2026. The pan-India film stars Prabhas alongside Nidhhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan, Sanjay Dutt, Boman Irani, and Riddhi Kumar. It will release in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.
