Prabhas’ much-awaited horror-comedy ‘The Raja Saab’ is witnessing a powerful surge at the box office even before its theatrical release. As of Wednesday, January 7, 2026, the film’s advance booking numbers indicate massive audience interest across domestic and overseas markets.
Overseas Advance Booking Shows Strong Momentum
The film has already crossed $1 million (approx. ₹9 crore) in overseas pre-sales. North America has emerged as a major contributor, with the United States and Canada recording $625,000 (around ₹5.2 crore) from premiere shows alone. More than 21,430 tickets have been sold in the region so far.
The United Kingdom is also reporting encouraging trends, with over 17,500 tickets sold, signaling strong demand among international audiences.
Domestic Booking Set to Open Wide
In India, full-scale advance booking is expected to begin on January 8, a day ahead of release. Early responses from select locations where bookings are open indicate robust interest, particularly for opening-day shows.
Business, Budget, and Break-Even Targets
Produced on a massive budget estimated between ₹350–400 crore, The Raja Saab carries high commercial expectations. To secure a “hit” verdict, the film is expected to collect approximately ₹400–410 crore gross worldwide.
For the Telugu version alone, a ₹290 crore gross is required to reach the safe zone.
Release Date and Opening Day Expectations
Directed by Maruthi, The Raja Saab is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on Friday, January 9, 2026, coinciding with the Sankranti festive season. Trade analysts project a ₹100 crore+ global opening day, driven by Prabhas’ strong fan base, despite competition from Vijay’s Jana Nayagan.
