During the Vigilance Awareness Week {31.10.2011 to 05.11.2011}, Punjab National Bank organized a one-day Seminar at Bank’s CSC, Delhi on 03.11.2011 on “Vigilance Awareness And Anti Corruption Measures” under the chairmanship of Ms. Usha Ananthasubramanian, ED of the Bank who spoke in length on the menace of corruption.
The Chief Guest of function was Shri Rajeev Sharma, JD (STF), CBI. Shri Shiv Kumar Gupta, CVO, PNB delivered the Key Note address and assured the staff that any bonafide action of the staff will be dealt with the right perspective. He emphasized on participative, preventive and pro-active vigilance rather than punitive vigilance. Shri Rajeev Sharma emphasized that there should be close co-operation between CVO, CBI and Income Tax to combat corruption. He also stated that public knowledge of such co-operation will act as a preventive measure. He also quoted the saying that ‘When good people in any country cease their vigilance and struggle, then evil men prevail’.
“PNB Alert” a special issue on Vigilance Awareness Week published by the Vigilance Deptt. of the Bank was also released.
Shri SS Banerjee, DGM (Vigilance) gave the details of positive work done by the Vigilance Department of PNB.
Shri SR Sharma, Field General Manager of Delhi also guided the senior Branch Managers regarding precautions to be taken to avoid frauds.
The seminar ended with a vote of thanks extended by Shri R.Dhamodaran, AGM(Vigilance) to all the participants.
