Punjab National Bank has been awarded the 3rd prize in Indira Gandhi Rajbhasha Shield Yojna for the financial year 2009-10 for the best performance in implementation of Hindi in Bank.
Shri Rakesh Sethi, Executive Director of the bank received the Shield and certificate from Hon’ble President of India, Her Excellency Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil in the Hindi Diwas Samaroh organized by the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Official Language in Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on 14th of September. Shri P Chidambaram, Home Minister presided over the function. Shri Jitender Singh and Shri M Ramachandran, Ministers of State for Home Affairs, Shri RK Singh Home Secretary and Smt. Veena Upadhyay Secretary, Rajbhasha Vibhag were also present in the Samaroh. Other dignatories of Punjab National Bank who were present on the occasion included Smt. Usha Ananthasubramanian, Executive Director, Shri GS Chauhan, and Shri VK Khanna General Managers, Shri V Manoharan, DGM and Shree Shreelal Pradad, Chief Manager (Rajbhasha).
