New Delhi :  Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ambitious PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana  is being implemented in 16 districts of Madhya Pradesh. A target has been set for junior engineers posted in power distribution companies of all 16 districts to install rooftop plants in 100 houses. For this, a volunteer force has also been asked to be prepared.

Officials of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy have taken a meeting in this regard. Junior engineers posted in power distribution companies of 16 districts have also started working under this scheme. Consumers whose rooftop plants will be installed. Junior engineers have also been given the responsibility of getting them loans from banks at 7 percent interest.

16 districts in the first phase

The work of this scheme is being started in 16 districts under Central Region Electricity Distribution Company. This includes Bhind, Morena, Gwalior, Datia, Guna, Shivpuri, Sheopur, Rajgarh, Vidisha, Ashok Nagar, Hoshangabad, Harda, Betul, Raisen, Sehore and Bhopal districts. A target has been set to provide its benefits to 40,000 consumers. All 400 engineers of the power distribution company together will achieve this target.a
