PM Modi to host gala dinner tonight for MPs returning from anti-terrorism operations from 33 countries

INVC NEWS
New Delhi — : The Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to host a high-level dinner meeting with Members of Parliament who recently returned from diplomatic missions to major global capitals. These meetings were part of India’s strategic outreach following Operation Sindoor, aimed at strengthening India’s position on the international stage and countering narratives around Pakistan-sponsored terrorism.

All invited leaders—over 50 members, including current MPs and former diplomats—will gather at the Prime Minister’s residence on Lok Kalyan Marg at 7 PM tonight. This gathering marks the first direct interaction between PM Modi and the special all-party delegation since their return from a month-long global assignment.

Major Diplomatic Push: 33 Capitals, 1 Mission

The delegations visited 33 international capitals, including major cities in Europe, Asia, and North America. Their mission was clear: to present India’s firm position against terrorism, especially in the context of regional security concerns post-Operation Sindoor.

The teams received support from Indian embassies and missions abroad and met with foreign government officials, think tanks, and civil society groups to convey India’s stance and demand stronger global action against terrorism. The trip also helped strengthen India’s soft power and political narrative globally.

External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, who already debriefed the delegations last week, appreciated their hard work, clarity of messaging, and diplomatic conduct. He emphasized that their visit had a “significant positive impact” in reaffirming India’s position at an international level.

Team India on Global Tour: Who Represented the Country?

Out of the seven main delegations, four were led by members from the ruling alliance:

  • 2 MPs from BJP

  • 1 MP from JD(U)

  • 1 MP from Shiv Sena

The remaining three groups were headed by opposition leaders, one each from:

  • Congress

  • DMK

  • NCP (Sharad Pawar faction)

This all-party format was strategically designed to present a united Indian front abroad, rising above political lines in matters of national security and foreign policy.

Dinner Diplomacy: Modi’s Direct Connect with Delegates

Tonight’s exclusive dinner at PM Modi’s residence is more than a courtesy—it’s part of a larger move to gather firsthand feedback and understand how India’s message was received globally.

Officials expect that the Prime Minister will also use this opportunity to outline next steps in India’s foreign policy narrative and thank the MPs for their role in strengthening India’s international credibility.

The meeting comes at a time when global dynamics are shifting, and India is aiming to position itself as a powerful voice on international platforms, especially in matters of counterterrorism and strategic diplomacy.

This evening’s event is expected to set the tone for the next phase of India’s global diplomatic push, with Parliament, ministries, and overseas missions working together as one cohesive unit.
